Commuters will be in for another disruption at Penn Station “sometime next year,” Wick Moorman, Amtrak’s CEO, told a hearing held by New York State Lawmakers on Thursday morning.  “We will do one more outage next year that will be shorter in duration (than planned summer outages),” Moorman said. “We have not scheduled that.”  The news was announced at a hearing about Amtrak’s proposed 44 days of outages in July and August to perform track work in Penn Station in the wake of derailments in March and April that caused days of commuter delays and overcrowding.
