Manufacturers decry ‘nightmare’ of steel, aluminum tariffs

At a recent Bipartisan Legislative Manufacturing Caucus, NJ manufacturers assembled to discuss the impacts of steel and aluminum tariffs. In particular, medical device manufacturers, who use large amounts of stainless steel and aluminum, were greatly impacted by the input cost hikes caused by the tariff. In particular, four Garden State manufacturers complained that the tariffs were having a serious negative impact on their businesses.
NJ SEED urges the Trump Administration to be sensitive to the negative impact of recent tariffs on manufacturing in NJ and to accelerate efforts to bring about a more favorable balance of trade.
