New Jersey fights challenge to $225 million Exxon settlement

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection is fighting an attempt by environmental groups to throw out a $225 million pollution settlement between the state and Exxon. The deal reached with Exxon was originally under then-Gov. Chris Christie but Gov. Phil Murphy has also sided with the former Christie administration saying the deal is sufficient.
