N.J. environmentalists use new legal strategy to fight pipelines

New Jersey environmentalists are using a new legal strategy to fight the construction of pipelines. One group, the New Jersey Conservation Foundation is claiming that the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has failed to prove that pipeline projects are necessary. FERC must prove the pipelines are necessary or it won’t be able to use eminent domain to seize easements for pipeline projects.
